You’ve framed your images, you’ve chosen the space and now you need to decide how to hang them. There are a lot of exciting ways to display your artwork or photos, but we’ve chosen three very simple options that you can easily recreate at home.
Don’t forget before hanging any pictures, cut a piece of paper to the size of the frames you want to display and do a test display using the paper and painters’ tape. A quick mock up means you won’t need to trial and test your pictures by putting multiple holes in your wall.
- The grid
Displaying different shapes and size images together can look great if it’s done properly. Having some conformity and consistency can help tie together a number of different images, from people to landscapes. A grid can give a very simple but bold impact and it can create a very effective feature wall.
- The line-up
A group of images in a line can assist with helping a narrow passage or room feel wider. A line of images can tell a story, or you can display three completely different images, the choice is yours. By using the same colour frame, it can tie the look together and keep it neat.
- The square
Think big or small. You can make your square formation as big or as small as you want, whether you want to make a feature wall with an impact, or a small display over the side table, the options are all yours.
Putting images in the shape of a square means that you can have similar images or completely different, the same coloured frames will tie them together, so you can have a consistent appearance even with very different images.
